A massive thank you to each and every one of you who came along to A Cuppa For Carli afternoon tea on Saturday.
It was so fantastic to be able to gather everyone for the afternoon, especially on a lovely sunny Southend day by the seafront.
The afternoon was a little different this year as unfortunately Megan was unable to attend after a fall a couple of weeks ago which left her with a nasty selection of broken bones and not able to make it far from her sofa. Our huge gratitude goes to Hazel, Nic and Jess for stepping in straight away with support and help on the day to make the afternoon tea go as smooth as possible and without a hitch.
We’re so glad so many of you were able to join us for a wonderful afternoon remembering our dear friend Carli. It means so much to us that people come along to celebrate Carli every year, and it is always nice to welcome new faces. Seeing everyone enjoying a very tasty afternoon tea and having a chance to catch up and chat reminds us of the many afternoon teas we enjoyed with Carli.
Thanks to you all, our fundraising total from the afternoon tea & raffle plus £500 from donation matching makes the final total a tidy sum of £1300!

We want to thank The Royal Hotel for hosting us and all their hard work in both the planning of the tea and on the day. We really enjoyed holding the event in such a beautiful room and a little part of Southend’s history too.
As is now as much a part of the afternoon tea itself, Danielle swopped the cuppas for a few double rums and raised a glass to toast to Carli, while Megan finally relaxed at home knowing the afternoon tea had been a success and toasted Carli with a cup of tea (strong painkillers prevented anything stronger from being consumed)
